Navigation
There is one main Nav that utalizes drop downs when they are scrolled over. Some of the nav is confusing. "Live beer" in particular bothers me. I the designers of the site were trying to get too beer with it. Adding the word beer after every call to action does not a good nav make, at least that is my opinion. Its just confusing. The look stays consistent throughout. the layout stays consistent throughout the whole thing, but its a lot jam packed into each page. I dont know what to look at first.
The hierarchy is apparent. Its easy to pin point subtitles and articles. the site is boring in general for its content. I believe it can be livened up a bit for sure.the color pallette is boring, the site is mostly white. I think splashes of color would help liven up the look and feel as well as just reference back to the fun that comes with drinking beer.
The objective of the site is to inform beer drinkers of the thing they aer interested in most, beer.

Moustache is good is a site that pays tribute to mustaches in history. Its fun, the content is humorous and the site is user driven. The landing page is a bell much like one that twould be in a barber shop. Thewhole site is based around the idea of being inside a barbar shop. the navigation of the site is minimal and the whole thing is actually in French, but essentially theer is an animation and then a link that leads you to a place where you can submit pictures of yourself.
You can always get back to the home page from wherever you are on the site. The architecture is very shallow, there is not much content to the site at all.
I think the hierarchy of the typography on the site is apparent. Even though its in a different language i know where to go and what is more important. The labels of the navigation are clear, especially considering that there are not much of them.
The layout stays consistent on each page. The focal point of the main page is the faux mirror and then the gallery on the next. They are noticed because they are essentially the only things on those pages.
The imagery/ photos on the site add everything to the site considering they are the only thing on the site. There are icons on the bottom of the home page that direct to facebook , the designer's website, and other things to enhance the site like full screen and sound. I didnt understand entirley where the logo of the firm would take me cause i was not familiar with it. I had to click on the others to understand what they were.One is an icon of an iPhone that downloads backgrounds for the iPhone, but i was confused as to why that was there. I almsot thought it was going to be the iphone version of the site, which i thought was weird to have on their main site, but that was not the case. Still confusing though.

Before reviewing this site, I'd like to say that Marc Jacobs is my favorite fashion designer. This site interests me because he just revamped the whole thing and there was a lot of controversy surrounding it because he seemed to give up a level of sophistication his previous site contained.

The top navigation seems to be the most important just because its at the topand the font size is a smidgen bigger than the rest. The navigation is for the most part understandable but some things aer a bit confusing. "special items" can become more specific I feel.
It is an ecommerce site so the architecture gets pretty deep.
Aside from the navigation there is not much hierarchy in the typography, the site is highly illustrative.
As i already stated the navigation could be more clear in its "special items" but I do know what that means being a customer of his, so im not sure it bothers me much.
The layouts of the pages stay consistent from one page to another.
The focal point of the home page is the illustration style that leads you into the site. This style has caught him some criticism in the fashion world. It's not "fashion-y" enough for some. I feel on the fence about it just because Im not sure if its cohesive with his work.
Its something that i feel is a weak point to his site because it's not what his customers are going to the site looking for. Also, I think the cat walk videos are a bit distracting and also disjointed stylistically from the rest of the site.

The illustration and animation style are used to promote and highlight content. I do find it odd that once you get deeper into the site the feel becomes a little different than the homepage, which I find confusing. The only constant is the navigation around the site as a whole.
